The Global Engagement Office (GEO) of Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) held a Morning Coffee session on 9 June 2026, bringing together university leaders and international students for an open discussion on enhancing the international student experience at USK.

The event was attended by Dr. Rina Suryani Oktari, Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Entrepreneurship; Prof. Syamsidik, Head of GEO; Dr. Reza P. Munirwan, Secretary of GEO; GEO staff; and international students from various countries.

“International students are an important part of the USK community. Through this session, we hope to hear your experiences and ideas so we can continue improving our services and strengthening USK as a welcoming and globally connected campus,” Prof. Syamsidik stated.

The informal gathering provided a platform for students to share their experiences, challenges, and suggestions regarding their studies and campus life at USK. Discussions focused on ways to improve student services, strengthen internationalization efforts, and create a more supportive environment for the university’s growing international community.

Dr. Rina Suryani Oktari also appreciated the active participation of the international students in sharing constructive feedback. She noted that their perspectives are valuable for supporting USK’s continuous improvement and strengthening its commitment to providing a welcoming learning environment for students from around the world.

The session reflects GEO’s commitment to maintaining open communication with international students and ensuring their feedback contributes to the continuous development of USK as a welcoming and globally engaged university.
